Writing is my therapy. It's my connection to my humanity, to my god, to my heart and my soul. It is my religion. Writing clarifies my feelings, helps me understand my misguided ego and why I do and say what I do and say that's caused both good and not so good in my 54 years, and it's made me a better person and parent.

I've taken full advantage of this spiritual gift I've been given and written an memoir. I hired a book coach for most of it, because although I love to write, it doesn't mean I know how to do it with the effect I wanted my story to have. My book coach (Samantha Wallen, who is also on Medium), helped deepen the therapeutic effect of my writing by pushing me to go continually deeper into my heart to pull out all my emotions and love them for the dimensions they give to my writing and to me. And, in the process, helped me find the compelling story of my life.

The book will be out in late summer 2022. In the meantime you can learn more about it and my journey through my posts. My intention for writing the book, and even for my posts on Medium, is not only to find love and an understanding for myself, but to help others find love and understanding for themselves and/or loved ones who may be codependent, who may be in abusive relationships. My story can give validation--as I found so crucial to my healing--and help others know that they are not crazy and that what they are going through isn't anything they need tolerate.

If I could help anyone afflicted with a narcissistic personality disorder understand the pain they cause and seek professional help...well, I can hope.

I'm not a therapist. My doctorate is in optometry, which may seem completely unrelated to what I write about. However, I do love to help people see not only the world, but also their own truth. And to see that truth with pure unconditional love.
