I whole-heartedly agree! This whole damn thing has become unnecessarily poisonous and it's killing relationships and familes with no end in sight. It's heart-breaking in it's stupidity.

I love that you drew the parallel to your family's dynamic and how they've created an enigma of your Grandpa Jean-Amougou. It all boils down to the human ego needing to simplify the world into good and bad and then pick a side. Most will pick what they see as the "good" side and then over-simplify that with a heaping dose of righteous judgment. In essence, they take two wrongs and then work to convince everyone around them they're right without even opening their minds to consider other more "complicated" possibilites, even if doing so could bring about peace.

Frankly, I beleive the chaos we are in is by spiritual design to help humanity break this habit and open their hearts and minds. People like Joe Rogan are leading the way without excusing themselves, rather, inviting others to converse with to expand minds and ideas even more.

We should all do this, but we don't because we've decided certain people are "evil" and not to be engaged with. People do this in an attempt to keep their own simple, narrow-minded lives uncomplicated and "clean," while having no idea how much more complicated and dirty life is without the pure unconditional love of inclusion and understanding.
